Vanessa Lopez

Costume Shop Supervisor/Head of Wardrobe, 3rd season

Vanessa currently attends the University of Texas at Austin and is pursuing a Master of Fine Arts degree in Costume Technology. She is a native of El Paso, Texas and graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio. After graduation, she returned to UIW to serve as the costume shop manager until the fall of 2016. Vanessa is a member of the United States Institute for Theatre Technology and in 2018 she will serve as the principle female tutu maker for Ballet Idaho’s production of The Nutcracker. Costume design credits include Italian American Reconciliation (UIW), Medea (The Classic Theatre of San Antonio), and Did You Hear Thunder? (Texas Shakespeare Festival). Other professional credits include work as a cutter/draper for Austin Shakespeare Festival, Six Flags Fiesta Texas Entertainment, The Classic Theatre of San Antonio, and wardrobe running crew for the local stagehands union in San Antonio where she worked on several Broadway tours including Wicked, The Lion King, and The Book of Mormon.
